End of Summer

I just have to face it. The arrival of the end of summer. No more warm sunshine, no more swimming in freshwater lakes. The process of turning summer into winter has begun, the process called autumn.

Autumn is not as bad as it sounds though. The trees turn a beautiful colour, life and the pattern of things turn back to normal as we prepare for our long nordic winter. Mornings are often misty and later if the cold sunshine dries away the wet, it reveals the new changes to our surroundings which now seem to happen overnight. Warm light turns into cold light. Like changing our normal light bulbs at home into energy saving LED's.

Where did all the mosquitoes go?

Stina

As I mentioned before, I'm working on a photographic documentary of the village I live in. Last weekend I got the chance to intervue and photograph the oldest lady in Kyrkås. Her name is Stina Eriksson and she is 92 years old and lives on her own in a house on a farm. She was very talkative but unfortunately I don't understand the local dialect very well yet and I could only pick up the general idea of what she was telling us.
I went to her house in the company of an elderly couple living next door to us because Stina is suspicious of strangers. She was robbed not long ago when she opened her door to a man a woman who pushed her over and took her money from her. How someone can do something so cowardly to a sweet and frail old lady is beyond my understanding.

Back again

I did say this was not going to be a frequent occurence...There is so much happening in life right now and somehow so little to write. I think that by the time I get around to sitting in front of the computer the inspiration to write something has disappeared.
A photographer friend om mine from work is really good at this. He is using his blog as a marketing tool for his photography and I must say he does a great job. You can check it out on mfrisk.blogspot.com
It's in Swedish, but that won't stop anyone from enjoying his creative photography.
So what's happening in life? Well..life! We are about to have a daughter almost any day now! There is lots of preparation to be done not to mention how stressed out I have become over this whole thing. I hope our little son Henrik will adapt as well as we hope to having a little sister.
On top of this I have just sold my long time friend to someone in the south of Sweden. Don't worry, my friend is a motorbike which has been mine for the last 5 years. There were tears in both Lorienne and my eyes when the new owner rode off into the sunset with it...
